Mitchell League mini soccer rule 8(B)  - whilst there are no specific obligations to register players with the League this policy is subject to review as there have recently been allegations of abuse. In general terms, a player cannot play for a club in any competition unless he has signed a club registration form and lives within 15 miles of the ground used by the club to play their matches. Your attention is drawn also to the rules which apply when a player wishes to 'transfer' from one club to another. See League rules section (and subject to late registrations). Once all financial commitments have been satisfied to the club the player is leaving, he/she is free to leave and can play for the new club once they have signed for them
Mitchell League mini soccer rule 8(K) - Late registrations A player may not be registered for a Club nor transferred to another Club in the Competition after 1st February except by special permission of the Management Committee. Permission is no longer likely to be granted where a player is leaving a club which has completed its playing season to play for one which has not. It will be the responsibility of the club wishing the register the player to show that the player is likely to continue to play for them in the following season and that the transfer is not a temporary measure.

FRIENDLY FOOTBALL AND UNDER 7s
It is FA policy that no player under 6 should be playing organised football. As the Mitchell League does not sanction competitive football for the under 7s there are no strict rules for player eligibility but team managers playing in friendlies should abide by the following guidelines:
FA National rules - The player should be (i) under 7 years of age on August 31st [2011] at midnight and (ii) has attained the age of 6 years [at the date of the match].
GUIDANCE ON APPLYING AGE RULES
These rules are clear and THE AGE LIMITS WILL BE RIGIDLY APPLIED Team managers should also be aware that playing children younger than the permitted minimum in any age group may have insurance/legal repercussions in the event of a serious injury to that child sustained on the field of play. Teams fielding over-age or otherwise ineligible players for competitive games in mini soccer can expect the Management Committee to dock points from that team's record (in accordance with rule 8(P)) in addition to any fine imposed.

It is the responsibility of the team manager to obtain accurate information about a player's age and eligibility to play. Team managers attention is also drawn to the other Mitchell League rules on player eligibility clearly set out in rule 8. A full copy of the rules are in the Mitchell League Rules section of this web site.
